Structural ResistaStructural Resistance Group (StRes) was founded in 2005 by six Russian composers: Boris Filanovski, Dmitri Kourilandski, Sergej Newski, Anton Safronov, Alexei Sioumak and Valery Voronov. In 2008-2010 Georgy Dorokhov, Anton Svetlichny and Vladimir Rannev joined the Group. The idea of grouping came from the necessity to work together and to activate the new music live in Russia, to increase the interest to newest trends and tendencies and to create and structure the active space of new music. StRes is a free union of composers which conceives, proposes, creates and realizes original concepts and programs, both for concert performances and CDs. The group participants are active in promoting contemporary Russian music abroad as well as in educational activities in Russia - they hold lectures, organize competitions, publish a journal (2005-2009, "Contemporary Music Tribune"). The Group projects were performed by Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, eNsemble, Studio for New Music and Schoenberg ensemble in Russia, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Austria, Italy at festivals Pythian games, Moscow forum, MaerzMusik, Time of Music, Klangspuren, Transart. StRes often invites to participate in its activities other composers.
